From a distance, Aubrey Thorne can be considered rather fragile. Her average height of 5 feet and 4 inches make her blend in with the crowd, but her rather slim body sets her apart. At 92 pounds she seems rather breakable, even with the slightest touch.

Her light skin easily changes color based on her mood and health. Some say they can figure out everything that goes through her mind by just looking at her cheeks. They turn bright red when she is embarrassed, and a translucent gray when she isn't feeling her best. On a normal day you will find them a light pink, sometimes offset by blush.

Aubrey's hair is one of her dearest features. She takes pride in the fact that it can be either wavy or straight based on how she cared for it the night before. Its light brown color is complemented by natural red tones giving her hair a depth in the light. She is rarely found wearing a hood, but is willing to conform when the time is right.

Aubrey is the second child of Maria and Matthew. She is their only daughter and is often treated as if she doesn't exist. Born four years after her brother, Aubrey grew up much more independent than many young girls her age. Living in the shadow of her successful brother was the flame of her rebellion.

When she was younger Aubrey wasn't expected to be as elegant as many of the people around her, after all her parents were just commoners in a populated society. Her grandparents continuously disapproved of her wandering around town meeting new people, and playing with the boys. Her parents were so focused on making sure their son was exactly what they wanted him to be, that they had no goals for their younger child. She was just another female in their eyes, they could marry her off to any boy and she would no longer be their problem.

It wasn't until her maternal grandmother, whom she is named after, took charge that Aubrey even considered being a courtier. She made sure that Aubrey was somewhat trained in how to behave in a higher class society, and that some of her natural grace caught up with her. Aubrey was prepared to become her own person, even if it meant starting her life over.

Aubrey is what many would consider completely spontaneous. She likes to make last minute decisions on just about everything. Whether its what she is going to do in the next couple of minutes or who she will be honest with. The thing about Aubrey is that she doesn't trust people easily so she won't always open up.

When she wasn't wandering around, Aubrey often spent time alone sketching her surroundings. She learned a couple of songs from travelers and often hummed them while running errands. With both those skills her grandmother felt that any suitor would be delighted, but her father refused to let her truly harness her talents. So now that she was more free, it was her time to shine. Her only concern was would she be willing to spend time with these people and whether they would like her or not.

A low self-esteem is one of her greatest downfalls.
