Male Courtier:
- 1 horse, older animal, nothing notable about it; a dull, drab sort of animal
- 2 sets of clothing: Color appropriate to your rank, only basic decorations – no jewels, no fur, nothing too fancy. This includes a hat, and either boots or slippers (you can have a pair of boots for one set of clothing and a pair of slippers for the other).
- One nightshirt; silk, slight embroidery
- One heavy gold or silver chain – simplest piece of jewelry, no jewels, just a chain.
- One personal item: nothing too extraordinary. Can be a dingy signet ring, an extremely old musical instrument, old personal diary of some relative…. Whatever.
- One sword: old, about to rust
- One traveling cloak w/hood
- A book of parchment, ink, and quill, with a little bit of sealing wax
- Hygienic effects: hair comb or brush, shaving equipment, etc. You can just assume that you have anything you need to stay clean and well-groomed.
- The ability to either hunt very well, or to use a sword very well. If you choose to hunt very well, you will be less than mediocre at sword-play, and vice versa. Note: If you have a musical instrument as your personal item, you can also assume that you can play it.
- Another ability (like drawing, painting, dancing, etc. anything you can think of)
- One manservant
- One pet (a hunting dog, a cat, a song bird; nothing exotic)
