Name: Lady Margaret Middleton
Age: Fifteen
Gender: Female
Physical Description: As Margaret is a young lady who is still maturing she lacks the feminine curves that most other Courtiers seem to possess. But it is, perhaps, her odd frame that makes her stand out. Margaret is petit, she stands a mere four feet, ten inches, and her frame is thin and frail; her complexion lacks much pigment. Her face is round and plump and her lips, soft pink, tend to curl into a sly smile. Margaret’s eyes are rarely described as being blue as they are as pale gray as the skies over Norshire. These eyes--so large and framed by eyelashes the same pale blonde as what covers her head--give Margaret a permanent look of wonder.
Native Realm (Realm you were born in): Sapphire
History: Born to the strictly religious Lord and Lady Middleton, Margaret is the elder of two children. Henry, her brother, is only a baby. Growing up, Margaret’s father longed for a son whom he could name as his heir and it is for this reason that Margaret has never shared a close relationship with either parent. The Lord and Lady did little to hide their disappointment when they learned that, after years of miscarriages and still births they had produced not their heir but a healthy baby girl. Despite this disappointment the Lord and Lady did not exclude Margaret from their plans. As Margaret got older they realized the opportunity that came with having a daughter whom could marry off into a wealthy family to improve the Middleton status.
A year ago, when Lord Middleton thought Margaret was not yet the proper age to join the court life, Lady Middleton found herself with child. As a blessing from God, nine months later Lady Middleton finally gave birth to the son she had always wanted. Unfortunately, Lady Middleton did not survive the strain of childbirth and passed away in early winter. With low family funds, servants to feed and clothe, Lord Middleton decided to send Margaret to the Sapphire Courts one year early
Parents: Lord Andrew Middleton, Lady Joan Middleton (deceased)
Siblings: Henry Middleton (Baby)
Personality: Aloof, naïve, and in every sense of the word a “dreamer”, Margaret is a normal adolescent girl. From the moment she arrived at Sapphire Court she marveled at the grandeur of the palace life, refusing to see any of the negatives of being sent away to live here. Margaret is very optimistic about life, but she never thinks about the topics of marriage and childbirth. Margaret is far too preoccupied with dreaming up tales of love and of court life to tell to willing audiences. Margaret tends to be louder than a lady should be and often forgets her place and manors when in the presence of those above her. If you lack a sense of humor you may be easily offended by Margaret’s actions and prying personal questions. But these things are only the mark of a girl transforming into a young woman.

Roleplay Sample (Two paragraph minimum - Ten sentences): The carriage lurched and rattled as the door was closed behind Millicent. Margaret had just barely made it to her seat in the cramp carriage when it began to move down the road towards the gate of her family’s small estate. Leaning on the carriage door Margaret looked out the window and as the carriage turned she could see the family’s few remaining servants standing at the front entrance. She spotted her baby brother in the arms of his nurse and smiled sadly to herself. Though she was happy to be leaving the dreary estate for the courts she wondered when she’d see her brother again. Perhaps it would be in two years, maybe even five? She would return to the estate and find that her brother had forgotten all about his older sister and she would be a stranger to him… Although she hadn’t been looking for him, before sitting back in the carriage Margaret caught of glimpse of her father’s black cloak disappear inside the houses’ entrance.
Margaret hadn’t even gotten the chance to bid her father farewell; he hadn’t even been there to see her off. Margaret was sure her father’s absence was due to the fact that he had bid her goodbye, in his own way, the night previous. The two rarely spoke during dinner, since the death of her mother. Yet he had broken the awkward silence by explaining to her how long it would take to get to the castle, how he expected her to be on her best and most Christian like behavior. Perhaps it broke her father’s heart to be loosing her, too so he couldn’t bring himself to watch the carriage drive away.
Margaret used her sleeve to wipe away a tear that was beginning to form in her eye. She ignored Millicent’s low grunt of disapproval—she wasn’t ready to be “lady like” yet. No, it seemed that as Margaret prepared herself to embrace a new found freedom from the strict ways of her father she was about to accept a whole new list of rules. Margaret knew little about the court life, although she had heard it could be a sinful place. But it couldn’t be all bad, Margaret thought as she pressed her face to the carriage window again…
