Lady Cecily was lounging by the water, trying to resist the urge to get up and leap into the waves with a large splash. Her resigned sigh showed how hard it was for her to resist anything, especially against herself. But she only had this one dress and she was not going to be seen wading naked into freezing water. And if she just wore her undergarments... well, they would get wet. And cold. So she resisted.
She fell onto her back in an attempt to ignore the water that was tantalizingly close. Looking up at the sky she saw it was quite cloudy, but that there were little patches of brighter cloud. She frowned as she watched the clouds go by alarmingly fast, as if it was she who was moving. She wasn't fond of the experience. Sitting up, she was quite alarmed to see a man there - not only that, but a certain Sir. She had heard of his change in status only a few hours ago, and was delighted and slightly humbled by his title. She didn't understand why.
"Lo-"
She stopped herself. He wasn't a Lord anymore, ninny! Sir Isaac. She stood up quickly, brushing down her dress, which had gotten rather muddy by the water. Rearranging her features into what she sincerely hoped was respectful, she curtsied with an ungainly wobble.
"Sir."
She said, trying to keep her eyes demurely low but failing. She'd resisted the water, any more would just be foolish. She studied his features and especially his hair, which she liked immensely. It was almost like hers but much more... attractive, somehow. Maybe it was because hers was always tied back. She tried to be Lady-like and quiet and modest but somehow she didn't think it was working. Maybe it was her muddy dress, or her messy hair, or the glances she was throwing him, trying to analyse his appearance.
