Title: Tournament
Description: Signing up and basic info
King Marc - August 2, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
'ello 'ello 'ello! Good morning everyone! I'm way too awake this morning, so I decided to go ahead with planning the tournament (
to read more about the tournament, click here). Alright now this is the thread where our male courtiers sign up to participate. Ladies, I'm sorry you can not... unless you dress up like a man :D. The way this is going to work is basically the bracket system (say, Lord A and Lord B go at it while Lord C and Lord D fight, then if Lord A wins his fight and Lord C wins his fight, then Lord A and Lord C will then fight). We (the staff) will be putting everyone in pairs and such (more info on this later), though if you have someone you REALLY want to fight with, tell us and we'll try to pair you up :D. So, if you want to participate, fill out the following form and reply to this thread (note you may enter in as many events as you wish):

:D ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. Your character can and probably will get hurt... not seriously hurt or killed, mind you, but a few bruises. Maybe a cracked rib. A few cuts ;).
Lord Edmund - August 2, 2007 05:22 PM (GMT)
Name of courtier: Lord Edmund
Events: Joust, Sword fight
Preferred combatant: No
Out of curiosity, will there be a time limit for responses? It is hard for me to guarantee being on-line during weekends.
Earl Rowland - August 2, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
Name of courtier: Rowland Ingling, Earl of Cromley
Events (joust, sword fight, wrestling): Jousting and wrestling
Preferred combatant (is there someone you REALLY want to fight with?): YES. There's a situation. . .Rowland is going to joust and wrestle with King Marc.
This is due to the fact that myself and Marc are staff, and therefore will be judging all of you. We will not be judged (obviously) so it's more for fun then anything.
As for your question, Edmund, there will probably be some sort of time-limit, but very flexible towards your needs. Of course we understand not everybody can be on 24/7, so whenever you get set up with a partner try your hardest and we'll make allowances. :D
Sir Isaac - August 2, 2007 07:12 PM (GMT)
Name of courtier: Sir Isaac

Question: How will the hits be scored, who will get to say where we hit, and how hard?
Earl Rowland - August 2, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
This may come to a disappoint to you, but this is a writing-based tournament. You're to write out the match fairly enough, taking hits and giving them, but there will not be a winner that way. It's based on your level of writing. After all, this isn't a D&D type of RPG, it's completely writing-based and therefore devoid of that aspect.
I'd imagine (though this isn't confirmed) that your match will basically go on for awhile, beating the bloody hell out of each other, and then you'll be stopped and a winner declared solely on writing. In essence, you could completely knick a chunk of somebody's face off and still lose because they wrote better. -shrug- This isn't a fighting board ;)

Would I be correct in assuming that we'll be issued with a list of rules for each event nearer the time?
