I had grown cooler out to the surprise of Senor Vladamir, summer had all but been extinguished. He sat on a fallen log near the rivers side looking out into the glistening blue water thinking softly to himself. His horse Raider tied to it a well looking at his master waiting for him to finally do something.
Vladamir sighed as he got up from his seat, he had made no friend in this place all save lady Ziare who seemed promised for another man. He walked over to his saddle bag and retrieved an apple as well as a small knife. He cut the fruit in two and gave half to his charger who ate it as though it were the last apple on earth. Vladamir chuckled to himself as his eyes turned back to the river, he had spent a week at sea traveling from his native realm to these shores and yet the water which surrounded him day and night was nothing like the sparkling gem before him.
He bit into his apple half with a loud crunch. It was sweet so very sweet and yet he did not feel as though he truly enjoyed it the same way he enjoyed fruit at home. It was then he heard something, something that was unlike the running water of the river before him. He turned only to see a what looked as though one of the ladies from the court. His eye brows frowned in wonder speculating what anyone would be doing out here besides himself. It was far to early for any or the rivers normally visitors
The Court life had already bored Victoria today. The clean, crisp, autumn air was what she wanted. She managed to get away from the Courtiers, and lose Anita, her maid. She had her harp in her hand, her other hand fingered her brown curls. Her aunt had told her to try to play while walking, which she found hard. But the song she wanted to play was easy. A song that she had learned back home.
She knew the river would help her with the song, because it reminded her of the one back home. As she came to a familiar place, she noticed a horse. She stopped, a bit surprised to some one else out here this early in the morning. When she saw the Lord, she smiled slightly. She approached him slowly, hoping he would not mind some company.
"Buenos dias, senor." She said, shly drawing back to her native tongue. "Yo soy Victoria. Do you ming if I join you?" She added gently. She hoped that he would understand enough to know what she had said. She often got embarrassed realizing people could not understand her. She waited for his reply, before taking any further action.
((sorry if it sounds a bit rushed, but I g2g))
