Title: Fast Food
Description: [Lady Olivia]

Lord Edmund - July 28, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)
Edmund strolled purposfully into the great dining hall, his stomach's growling bading him to gain sustenance soon. He was a tad late for breakfast, having not slept well the previous night. He had tossed and turned only to finally give up and patrol the darkened halls. It was always rather odd at that time of night. He may hear a muffled giggle, scurried footsteps, or pass by some other sleep-denied Lord. Edmund wore his weary face well though, effectively hiding most of the tired lines with his firmly set lips. His hair had been given a quick comb-over, his lower face void of being shaved. He had dismissed his attendant Gibbs and sent him off to find his own breakfast. As a result the five-o-clock shadows were easily visible. They added a certain mysterious appeal, somehow only encouraging one to draw attention to his shadowed emerald eyes. Their depths molded and swirled, lending color to his otherwise stoic mask.

He nodded a silent greeting to several courtiers, too hurried to pause in his step for a more formal hello. There weren't many he knew well enough for that anyway. Edmund chose his seat amongst the semi-circle, choosing one without any immediate nearby occupants. This was because he felt famished and rapped his fingers upon the cool wooden surface, his impatience clearly demonstrated to the slow server. The results were amazing and soon enough Lord Edmund ate his hot oatmeal and biscuits-n-gravy. He sometimes only found time to eat one solid meal a day and he honestly couldn't remember at the moment if he had had supper yesterday evening or not. He was out by the river, enjoying the fresh air and hadn't returned until dark.

Appetite sated, Edmund rested against the chair's back. He felt relaxed and this time remembered to politely thank the servant girl for the hot tea she offered him. His voice was like the rolling ocean waves, the ones found way out in the sea, their muffled baritones rolling on with one continuous motion. He sipped his drink then as his stomach settled into satisfaction, playing with the edges of his cloth napkin while he debated how to spend the remainder of the day.

Lady Olivia - July 28, 2007 03:36 AM (GMT)
The sun was bright, and had called to Olivia nearly all morning. Undecided on how to spend the cheery day, Olivia and Bethanie made their ways down to the Great Hall for a quick bite to eat. Laughing and chatting between themselves, Olivia and Bethanie gave the look of old friends; knowing eachother for years. As they walked round the group of Courtiers, Olivia whispered into Beth's ear, in which she nodded and followed behind Olivia. Choosing a to sit next to a Lord, she sat softly and gave a small smile. "G'Day My Lord. Has the day been well to you?"

Lord Edmund - July 30, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
So enrapt Edmund had been with planning his day that he had nearly missed the approaching Lady and what appeared to be her attendant. Standing just as she bent to sit, he nodded graciously to her. Lord Edmund wasn't immediately aware of who she was but you could never know it by his kind greeting. "M'Lady," he said in acknowledgements towards her, "T'is my pleasure for your company." After she was seated did he lower his own form down to his chair once more, flashing a smile as she spoke. "Indeed my lady. It seems to have just improved." Edmund said the compliment as a gentleman would, knowing that the female gender usually always found satisfaction when their presence was notably appreciated.

He caught the dining servant's attention, calling her over so that the Lady may order. He was courteous, giving her time to decide before speaking once more. "I am Lord Edmund of the Duncan family," he said it matter-of-fact, neither boastful nor in shame, "would you grace me with the name of yourself in return, my lady?" Folding his napkin in half, he set it aside as he sipped the hot tea again. It's steam rose in small puffs, lending his eyes the darkened appearance of forest green.
