Title: Lord Tristan Truax [Approved]
Description: Ashton [Complete]

Lord Tristan Truax - May 17, 2008 10:57 PM (GMT)
Name: Lord Tristan Truax
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Class: Courtier

Physical Description:
There is but one word to utterly and completely describe Tristan Truax; smug. Everything about him breathes a sense of rich, self-importance. However along with the oodles of money that he inherited he also seemed to have gotten the best genes available, being the masterpiece of years and years of perfect breeding. He's tall but has just the right slope of the shoulder, the correct muscles to make him appear not scrawny, but not lugheaded either. His skin is slightly bronzed, with a long sloping nose, thin lips, and blue eyes. His hair is cut short and a blondish-brown color so that sometimes it falls over his eyes. He dresses nicely at all times, as he believes his appearance is quite important to him. But perhaps it is his smile that is so incredibly appealling, it has been known to charm the most rebellious of young women, and soften the harshest of glares from his elders. It's really all in the details and Tristan has managed to master his features giving him the most advantage possible in life. And he knows it too, for his walk is more than a swagger than anything else.

Native Duchy: Ashton

History:
Tristan was born into the lap of luxury; to the Duke and Duchess of one of the provinces in northern Adesia (Ireland). He was their only child, and so he grew up with the world at his feet, so to speak. His parents were rich through inheritance rather than any sort of skill or wit of their own. In fact their main skill seemed to be taking advantage of every penny that they had and squandering it on silly fancies. The wealthy Duke and Duchess were also far more interested in going to parties, flaunting their wealth, and generally acting like children than raising their own. For that reason Tristan ended up being raised by a governess rather than a mother or father. The consequences of that said action has haunted Tristan throughout the rest of his life, not that he feels any sort of bitterness or hurt about it. No instead it simply means that he did not have any sort of discipline in his life, as when he threw a fit his nanny simply gave him whatever he wanted in order to keep him quiet.

He matured quickly, mastering the art of guising himself as a perfect gentleman. He was charming, intelligent in the cunning sort of way, and had a way with the ladies. He soon had the entire region of ladies quite smitten with him. But Tristan was never one to settle and neither were his parents. All three of them knew that with his good breeding and his money he could marry much better than the giggling girls he had been fooling around with. So he went for an extended stay with his aunt and uncle, lower courtiers in the duchy of Ashton. It was there that he would make himself a place in court, and hopefully find the perfect girl to bring back with him to meet the Duke and Duchess.

Parents:
Duke Connall Truax (45)
Duchess Maeve Truax (38)

Siblings:
None

Personality:
Tristan has always grown up in the lap of luxury, so it really is no surprise that he is used to getting exactly what he wants. He's quite unused to any argument and think that his needs automatically come before everyone else's. A sense of responsibility has never dawned on him, and probably never will at the rate he is going. Manners and social graces are only instilled in him because he knows that they can help him get what he wants, once they no longer serve him that purpose they are thrown aside. He is a complete and utter flirt, and has honestly never come across a girl who didn't fall for him for one reason or another. He is used to, and expects, girls to fawn over him. Yet along with his spoiledness there is a temper should anyone cross him, and he can get nearly violent when things don't go his way. It's really a horrid cycle because he can't always get what he wants and yet he always wants what he can't have.

Yet for all his faults, he does have his good points. He was a very bright kid, and was enrolled in school nearly a year early, for his birthday fell at a time where he would either be rather old or extremely young and he was bright enough to go on as a young'un... Not to mention his parents wanted him out of their hair as soon as possible. So he does have a quick wit and could do rather well in school if he had any sort of focus or will to do so. And despite all his faults, he is not really a truly cruel young man. He was simply brainwashed into believing in shallowness, and petty things; bred to be spoiled and pampered and expectant of getting what he wants. He still has a sliver of goodness in him, but it's only a matter of years before that disappears when life takes its toll on him.

Roleplay Sample (Two paragraph minimum - Ten sentences):
"The quarrels of lovers are like summer showers that leave the country more verdant and beautiful...” - Susanne Necker

Tristan's summer could be described in one simple, easy word; relapse. He had vowed to himself that he'd try to be a better person, that he'd do Ara proud, that he would do this and that and not go back to all his bad ways... Everything went down the latrine after about a week of being in Kyrenia. Darren was unshakable in his efforts to get Tristan out of this slump he'd put himself in, cursing the Irish women and their intoxicating ways to no end. He was completely and utterly lonely, a feeling that he had never possessed in the past. There was no one to poke fun at and then kiss. Most of all there was no one to tell him what to do, no one to keep him in line and it was rather disturbing after having that concious named Arabella constantly around.

And so what does any well-thinking man do to keep out the lonliness? Drink plentifully and keep company with pretty, pretty girls. Neither worked for very long but the temporary relief was enough to keep him going. Firewhisky, which he had been fond of before, had become his main companion and since his parents didn't care, and there was no voice of reason, he started falling off the edge. He was constantly found in the company of young blonde women, but he seemed miserable whenever they were around. He seemed miserable without them around either, but they simply were not his Arabella. Though he still would not admit it... He missed Arabella more than he had missed anyone or anything in his entire life.

So here he was, with a hangover from downing half the supply of firewhisky he had planned on bringing with him. The euphoria had wore off a bit ago and now it was like someone was smashing his head in with a large hammer. He swayed slightly in the entrance hall; one of the house elves had taken his luggage, so at least he didn't have to worry about that. His hand gripped onto a side rail as he tried to keep the world from spinning round, and round... and round... and round...

Despite the rather pained expression on his face Tristan had somehow managed to only get more handsome. Ragged at the moment, but certainly handsome. His lack of food and increase in alcohol gave him a less brought lumbering sense, and he'd shot up even taller so now he was hitting about 6'4", his recent leanness making him look taller. His hair was cut short, his face having a more handsome manliness about it. However his eyes were shadowed, and he had a pallor to him that had not been there previously.

Other: (I didn't know how to refer to Ireland so if I need to change it just tell me)

Just one thing...
There is no equivalent of Ireland in this RP, and the outside countries are not parts of Adesia.

Here is the list of countries in the Knowne World. Since we don't have any royalty set up yet, I'll allow him to be the son of a Duke and Duchess. If there were, you'd need permission.

If you decide you'd rather him just be from Ashton, you'll need to change his parents to lesser nobles.

Thank you!

In that page you sent me it says...

"A name for Ireland is still being decided [and we will be sticking to historically correct there with it not being unified but rather being partially owned by the King of Adesia and then the rest being fought over by a select few clans] "

So I was thinking that I'd just avoid saying what it was called and maybe refer to it as, 'across the sea' or something to that degree... If you still want me to change it I totally can. I just thought the rules said that you could be from Ireland, it just didn't have a name as of yet, and also that part of it is owned by the King of Adesia (the part Tristan is from)

If you still want me to change it though, that's totally fine by me!
