Constantly telling them how wonderful they were and giving them a false sense of superiority caused them to all think very well of themselves. Florence, as the oldest, got the greatest smothering of love and consequently thinks the highest of herself. All the Yaxley siblings are highly competitive with each other and are constantly trying to get all the attention on themselves. Thus, they all act as though they like each other, but secretly they are plotting each others' downfall.

Florence used to be her parents' favorite child, but their inability to marry her off has caused her to fall in their eyes. Piers has been engaged, de facto, to a girl substantially higher class than him and he has risen to the status of "favorite child". Florence is under immense pressure to find herself a husband, and quick.

Personality: Florence has an "artistic temperament" and thinks rather highly of herself. She often spends her days singing, drawing, and staring at herself in the mirror. She considers herself a great artist, despite the fact that she has every privilege handed to her and only an average amount of talent. When she's not busy being artistic, she is thinking about men. She loves to flirt, toss her hair, and entice the opposite sex as much as possible, but she likes them much more than they like her. Her narcissistic nature is not something that attracts a lot of men. However, she still spends a lot of her time focused on attracting various male specimens.

Roleplay Sample (Two paragraph minimum - Ten sentences): Florence stared at her hair in the mirror. Something was not right. Was it the way she had pinned it? A few loose tendrils hung around her face, as they usually did. Her cheeks were flushed pink and she had rouged her lips to a dark red. She looked lovely, in her opinion. But something about her hair was just not right. Instead of continuing to fiddle with it, she pulled out the pins and let her hair fall loose around her shoulders.

There, that's better, she thought, examining her reflection in the mirror. Her hair looked much better down around her face. She stood up, smoothed her skirts, and gave herself one last discerning look in the mirror. She was ready to go out.
