Description: {Marcheford} {Complete}

Lady Elinor Brighton - April 2, 2008 09:34 PM (GMT)
Name: Elinor Brighton
Age: Seventeen
Gender: Female
Class: Courtier

Physical Description (5 sentence minimum):
see for yourself.
Elinor Brighton is a delicately formed young lady. Her father often compares her to a finely crafted china doll. Extremely pale skin is unblemished and has the appearance of porcelain. Pale, white-blonde hair adds to her overall paleness. It curls to her shoulders in the back and in the front, swoops down into a widow's peak. Elinor seems to have a pale aura glowing around her. Bright blue eyes rest above a sharp nose and feminine lips. Facial features are sharply formed, giving her the appearance of almost a small child. Like all Brighton women, she is small - standing at only five feet and two inches. A narrow waist is accentuated by small curves - which are one of few indications of her maturity.

Native Duchy: Marcheford

History (8 sentence minimum):
Elinor Brighton was born on an early May morning to Hugh and Catherine Brighton. She had no siblings as of yet. A cherubic child, she delighted her parents and other family members. When she was five, her mother gave birth to another child. A boy. He was stillborn and after a few long hours, Catherine Brighton died. This left Hugh a widower with a daughter to raise.

Elinor's life was very sheltered growing up. A private tutor skilled her in those subjects that were proper for a young lady to learn. She learned the Modern Languages, Music, Religion and Drawing. Elinor proved to be a very fast learner and willing student.

As far as men are concerned, Elinor has never been alone with a man who was not a family member - not even her tutor, for her maid sat in on her lessons. She is as pure as snow and, had the family been Catholic, there is a good chance she would have joined a cloister. The pious girl would have made a fine Abbess.

Now that she is of age, she is expected to wed. Her father's health has deteriorated tremendously in the past few years and he is now unable to leave his home. Elinor took to the job of being his nursemaid, but now her father thinks that if she does not secure a marriage before his impending death, she will become destitute - or worse... be married off to a less than honorable man. Sir Hugh sent his daughter to stay with her cousin, the Duke of Marcheford. Since he is unable, his young nephew has been given the task of procuring a proper husband for his sweet child.

Parents:
Sir Hugh Brighton & Catherine Brighton (Deceased)

Siblings:
None

Personality:
One word to describe Elinor's personality would be angelic. She is the model daughter. She has never uttered a coarse word in her life. A bit on the shy side - as a result of her sheltered upbringing - she does not speak often, especially not out of turn. Unlike many women her age, alcohol has never touched her lips - save for during the Eucharist. An extremely pious girl, religion is the cornerstone of her life and she can be found in the chapel at least once a day to pray.

Another word to describe her could also be naive. She is far too apt to trust people, for she only sees the good and not the less than pleasant motives. A romantic spirit, she has grand thoughts of being whisked away by some handsome, but respecting, valiant, but pious, confident, but humble man who captures her heart. Her head is just a bit in the clouds.

Items:
- 1 sewing kit, for embroidery work
- 2 sets of clothing: One pale yellow dress with cream lace accents and dark yellow embroidery. A cream colored lace veil, cream slippers and a cream lace fan and gloves. One pale pink dress with white and rose embroidery. One wire hair net, white slippers fan and gloves.
- One nightdress; pale blue silk, light embroidery
- One light silver chain
- An old harp that belonged to her mother
- A book of parchment, ink, and quill, with a little bit of sealing wax
- Hygienic effects: hair brush, pins (to hold the hair in place), a little bit of scent (perfume), etc. You can just assume that you have anything you need to stay clean and well-groomed.
- The ability to embroider very well
- The ability to draw very well
- One maid: Anne - a middle aged woman who has been her maid since her mother's death.
- A greyhound from her father given to her on her fifteenth birthday. She wanted to name her Catherine, after her mother, but her father explained to her that you simply do not name animals after people, so she decided to name the dog Poppy.

Roleplay Sample (Two paragraph minimum - Ten sentences):
Even though Cameron was utterly dismayed about having to leave Scotland after only a week for Grandia, he was trying to make the most of it - at least for his sister's sake. The pair of them had been whisked away by their overbearing mother for her own motives. Who knew what they were yet. Cameron could have - and would have - protested this decision if not for three reasons. The first being his sister. There was no way that he would send her off to the wolves alone. He knew of the treachery that went on in the Rosier's court and he would not expose his sister to it. The second reason was that he was eager to see the Rosiers again. They were childhood friends and it had been a year and a half since he had last visited. He wondered if Nicolas had gotten any better at polo or if his old friend Viktor was still up to his woman chasing now that he had been named King. It was a strange thought. Cameron had always known that one day his friend would be King, but it was still peculiar to think of the boy that Cam pinned in a tree was when they were seven was now running an entire country.

The third reason, and probably the most important, was Isobel. Isobel was his first cousin and one of his closest friends. As far as Grandia was concerned, she was one of the only reasons to visit. The two kept in touch via letters and phone calls. Cameron was not a huge fan of email, so they did things the old fashioned way. The last few times that Cameron had talked to his cousin, something sounded amiss in her voice. She kept insisting that nothing was wrong - but she eventually relented. Isobel had told him she would speak with him when he arrived. Apparently, this had to be discussed in person. That had done nothing to allay the young Scot's worries.

His mind had been reeling for days now, wondering what the dilemma could be. He hoped, for all of their sakes, that it was nothing shameful. Not that it would matter much to Cameron. Isobel could tell him that she had murdered the pope and he would not love her any less. He was extremely faithful to his close friends and Isobel was one who would always have his loyalty. Still, he knew how the Staffords were. If she had done anything wrong, she would pay dearly.

Another bit of their conversation had piqued his interest. She had been speaking of a new friend as of late. A commoner, to be exact. Isobel kept insisting that she and Cameron meet when he arrived. While he was not a Casanova by any means and preferred not to seduce and bolt like so many other noble men he knew, he was still a male and was still anxious to meet this girl that his cousin held in such high regard. A student at the University. He had tried that once. He had enjoyed higher learning enough, but he loved polo more.

As their car pulled up to Wilkshire Estate, Cameron exited before assisting his sister out of the car. She was a classic little thing, clothed in a cream colored dress. He smiled at her before turning to his attendants, who were getting out of the other cars in their caravan. "Take my sister to her rooms and see that she is served some tea. She looks famished." He addressed her maids. They knew what to do. Unpack her bags and get their mistress something to eat. Cameron then turned to his valet. "Send word to Lord Stafford that we have arrived. Tell him I will see him shortly, if he has a moment, but first I must see to Isobel."

Cameron and his male cousin were not the closest of friends. He got along well enough with the man who was one year his junior, but he much preferred to deal with him as little as possible. He gave a few more instructions to various servants about packages that needed to be delivered and caretaking for his horse before turning back to the mansion.

He removed his sunglasses as he walked inside, placing them in the front right pocket of his worn blue jeans. A crisp, pale blue button up shirt adorned his torso. He was not a fan of traveling in suits. In fact, he was not a fan of suits period. He walked quickly up the stairs, very well knowing the way to Isobel's rooms. Knocking on the door a few times, he opened it himself, not waiting for anyone to do it for him.

"Izzy? Where are you?" He called jovially. He had called the girl Izzy since they were children. She hated it as much today as she did then. He found her in an instant, staring out the window. Moving towards her, he wrapped his arms around her in a large bear hug. "There's my favorite cousin." He laughed.
