Goodness, what was she doing here? Had she really decided to take up Lady Katherine Elle's suggestion and come to seek advice from Her Highness about the most absurd of all subjects? Then again, it hadn't quite helped when Mary had encouraged her as well, especially in her time of rest and recovery from an illness that was afflicting her. After all, Lady Leana Glentrool was absolutely horrid when it came to this subject. Then again, she was also absolutely horrid when it came to speaking to people in authority. And Princess Anna had this sort of air about her that intimidated Leana by how confident she was. She had every reason to be confident, of course, due to how beautiful and talented she was...but it didn't serve to lower how intimidated Leana felt in her presence. So why had she decided to come?
Why had she come to ask for advice about...hair?
It was too late, of course. She hadn't sent someone to tell Her Highness that Leana was there, but she couldn't very well leave after moments of entering the presence of her other ladies-in-waiting. She would look like an absolute loony, or worse, a ninny. Of course, she wasn't quite helping her case right now, with the way that she was slowly pacing back and forth, rubbing her hands softly together and biting her bottom lip as if she hadn't eaten in weeks. But would Her Highness choose to exit her chambers, or would Leana be left here until she gained the courage to leave again? Only time would tell.
At that precise moment, the doors to the princess's chambers opened and out walked a maid dressed in the royal livery, the black crest at her shoulder naming her for a servant of Her Royal Highness, and almost ran headlong into Leana. "Oh!" She exclaimed, her round cheeks flushing in embarrassment as she tried to recover her balance and composure, all while keeping the tray in her arms from slipping and sending the expensive crystal goblets crashing to the floor. "Pardon me my lady, I did not see you." Her eyes were downcast with respect, though if she had been looking upwards, Leana would have seen that they were a brilliant shade of green. "My deepest apologies," the young woman murmured once more as she attempted to dip into a rather awkward curtsy but only managed to wobble uncertainly upon her thin legs, currently hidden by the thick skirts of her uniform. An even fiercer blush spreading across her features, the maid took a step away from the door, gesturing with one free hand that Leana should enter as she balanced the heavy tray on her other palm. "Please, do not let me keep my lady." And with that, the girl was hurrying away, practically running in her haste.
Leaving Leana all alone before the open doors.
Leana could choose to remain outside, hoping that somebody else might come along - another lady perhaps - or she could enter. If she chose to enter, she would immediately find herself assaulted by the sheer amount of activity within the princess's audience chamber. There were musicians walking about, strumming upon their lutes and singing sweetly to the ladies-in-waiting. Women were seated about upon stools, embroidering, gossiping, laughing, and just generally enjoying themselves. And there, in the window seat surrounded by a few of her favorites was the Gem of the Sapphire Realm herself, resplendent in a gown of midnight blue and cloth-of-gold, studded in gems and heavy with embroidery. A hood in the Amethyst style rested upon her head, pushed back daringly to reveal her sleek fiery locks. Her neck had been left bare on that day, though a few gold rings sparkled upon her slender fingers - the only jewelry on her person. In response to something one of her ladies-in-waiting said, the young princess laughed jovially, her voice tinkling out above the hum and buzz of the chamber like the sound of tiny bells.
