Marquess Adrian Smith - March 24, 2008 04:23 PM (GMT)
Adrian strode over to the wrestling ring, bare save for his trousers. No one could get him to wrestle in full clothing. He hauled himself over the fence and looked out into the crowd. This is where he would prove his worth as not a noble, but as man. Fighting another man. Rank does not matter on a battlefield like this, he thought. He wondered how he would handle this. As he did, he turned to face his opponent. Another man. Another Face. It was time to fight. He ran at the man, grabbing for his midsection, hoping for a quick pin.

Robert was a twenty something man, well built and a favourite amoung the ladies. He was in this wrestling ring to fight for his family. He was a graceful loser, but a triumphant winner as well. His family had long had the reputation for having a great deal of pride. Robert came from a long line of blacksmith's who worked for the nobles. It just so happened that Robert was currently working in the stables of the king's castle, fitting horseshoes to the shoes of the royal horses. He was proud of himself, and his family, and he eyed his opponent with a skilled eye.

This lord seemed as if he was well built, and ready to get a fight going on. Robert respected the look in the lord's eyes. He kept a smile on his face, hoping the phase the lord. The horn blew and the match had started. Robert looked at the man, willing him to make the first move. He was not dissapointed as the lord raced forward, grabbing for Robert's midsection.

This rush revealed much about the lord's character. Impatiant, wanting this to be over with quickly? Robert would have laughed. This lord had no idea who he was playing against. Robert specialized in dragging out of the fight, till his opponent tired and had to back down. But this match seemed like it was going to be significantly shorter, as this lord looked like he could be strong. In a lordly way of course. Robert had his blacksmith's arms working for him.

Robert braced his core, willing himself to stay on his feet, as the man came forward. His own arms twisted around the lord's midriff, exerting great strength. He only hoped that his strength would not be matched by this sheltered lord.

Adrian jumped up from the ground and thought this next attack out. This man was surely of great strength. The legs, perhaps? Adrian noted that that mans center of gravity is probably where he just failed to hit. The legs though, hitting them would move the center of gravity and hopefully topple the man. Adrian slowly went foward, picking up speed as he went. He appeared to be going for the midsection again. However, at the lest second, he forced a stumble and latched onto the mans knees, his foward momentum behind him.

Yes! Victory! Inwards, Robert felt his confidance boost by a tenfold. This lord was ineed everything he had labelled him as. A man who could barely tie his own shoes, or pick out his own clothes. Robert felt a sort of vindictive pleasure in besting this lord. He heard cheers erupting from the stands. He looked at the man with a smirk on his face. Did this lord stand a chance against him? Probably not, and he waited, in a tense position for the next attack. He had no idea what this lord was going to do, how he was going to react to loosing to Rob. But he knew that it would be amusing.

Imagine the surprise when the man attacked Robert again, with more than formidable strength. Had this man not learned? Robert possibly had the strongest core in Sapphire City. But the lord surprised Robert, as he went for the legs. For the briefest of seconds, Robert halted in surprise, before his arms twisted around the lord, attempting to throw him off, to delay the attack. As the veins in his arm bulged with the exertion.

Perhaps..perhaps he had underestimated the lord whom he was fighting against? Had he been - heaven forbid, mistaken? No. This man was strong, but Robert knew - hoped - he was stronger. Pride was at stake here, and if there was something Robert had besides a ton of muscles, it was pride.
