Lady Jeanette Gainsford - January 21, 2008 05:34 PM (GMT)
She was going to be sick.

She had to be the luckiest girl in all of Adesia, coming of age and being sent to Roseworth manor just in time to attend the ball which was being held in honor of the engagement of Duchess Esabell Sherbourne to Lord Edmund Duncan. It was a lavish occasion, as the young courtier supposed all such occasions in Pemberton had to be. The hall seemed to sparkle with jewls of light, the floors spinning in time to the music as courtiers from every duchy danced and drank giddlily. They moved as if on clouds, their feet never once touching the ground, and the flowing movements of their radiant gowns created a whirling sea of color, spinning, spinning, spinning...

Good Heavens, it was ridiculous! Jeanie had always been adventurous and boisterous, with a personality as bright as the lights that sparkled in the eyes of the courtiers. Her head and stomach seemed to twirl along with them in the dances, and she felt dizzy and small, and suddenly all she wanted was for this occasion that she had waited for so impatiently to be over. Her fingers flitted nervously over the pale silk ribbons which were woven through the sleeves and bodice of her fitted burgedy dress, and she breathed deeply, feeling as if the fitted bodice was slowly squeezing all life out of her body. Suddenly desperate for fresh air, she pushed her way through the crowds of people, not bothering much with politeness. The way she saw it, it would be less polite for her not to rush outside, and to end up throwing up on one of the elaborate outfits. Making her way out to the balcony, she pressed herself against the railing, taking in the crisp, clean air and letting her head hang down to her chest. She knew she looked beautiful in her silk burgedy gown, with her dark red hair arranged in an intricately braided coil at the back of her head. She had to be one of the most social girl in all of Roseworth manor, so why was she so unnerved? Sure, she was quite possibly the youngest out of all the people attending the ball, but usually that didn't bother her much. Jeanie sighed softly, breathing deep breaths. If only she could understand what was wrong.

Lord Edward Carstairs - January 22, 2008 06:56 PM (GMT)
Edward had been watching all of the different people dancing. He was new to the court life, and so was a bit nervous about asking any one to dance. He figitted with the collar of his green shirt, hoping that no one was watching him. He was already nervous without having strange eyes upon him.

He looked up to see a few different people looking hat him. It was more than he could take, he had to leave. He quickly made his way out of the room. But, what he thought was an exit, turned out to be the balcony. And, even there he was not alone. "I am sorry..."He said, starting to turn around to leave.

It then struck him, some thing was wrong. She was pressed to the railing, and she was breathing hard. He turned around to face the back of the girl. Her red hair accented her burgundy dress perfectly, but a girl in trouble was not a beautiful sight to see. His caring nature got the best of him, and he came nearer to her. "M'Lady, are you alright?" He let a small amount of worry show in his voice, but he held care in his eyes.
