This is just a guide to help you get the most out of roleplaying with your character, though it is not a required read to start playing in the world of the Sapphire Court. This is just to help you out, give you an inspiration boost, or something to read while you're bored :D.
Things to include in your posts:
What you see
What you feel (physical and emotional)
What you hear
What you smell
What you taste
Describe your surroundings
Describe your appearance. What are you wearing? How do you look?
What are your thoughts?
How are you positioned? Are you standing? Sitting? Leaning?
What are you doing? Walking? Observing? Playing the lute? Reading?
Remember to ask yourself: Who, What, Where, When, Why? Of course, this will not apply to every post you make, but it is a nice start.
What to do if you're stumped:
Don't know what to write? Try to put yourself in the place of your character. Imagine you are them. What are you doing? Are you smiling, frowning, smirking? Are you trying to discreetly look down Princess Anna's bodice (lol)? If you were them, what would you do?
Also, meditation always works. Quit laughing, I'm serious! If you have writer's block, take a deep breath, clear your thoughts, and then try to start again.
Try writing from a different perspective. Tired of third person? Try first person on for size. This might help you become more in tune with your character... and can make for some interesting monologues...
Brief, but I hope it helped you a little! Remember, quality over quantity. We at the SC would rather you have one or two paragraphs of solid writing than 8 paragraphs of fluff
:D.

Alright, I think I'm going to add on to Anna here with some of my own tips and tricks :). Details are your best friend in the world of RPing. If you feel that your post is too short, look back over what you've written. If you have your character sigh, why did they sigh? Elaborate. If you have them smile to themselves, why did they smile? If you have them laugh at something someone said yesterday, what did that person say? If they're tired, talk about their night and why they're tired. How are they standing? Are they sitting? Are they holding something? How do they feel? Do they smell (lol, are they wearing a scent)? How do they look? What are they doing? Why are they doing it?
And that's my two cents for the day ;).
